Westchase TV Installer Answers Your TV Mounting FAQs

Q: What kind of wall mount should I buy for my TV?

A: There are a few different types of wall mounts available for televisions and you should consider a few things before you invest in one.

Firstly, you need to be sure that the VESA pattern on the TV mount matches the one on your television. This affects whether or not your television mount will line up correctly with the mounting holes on the back of your television.

Secondly, you need to make sure that the mount will fit the size and weight of your television. This is important to be sure that your television will fit the mount without straining it. Straining a TV mount can cause it to come crashing off the wall, breaking your TV!

Thirdly, you need to be sure that the type of mount you choose is suited to the environment you will be using it in. For example, if you are mounting a television outdoors, you need to be sure that the mount you choose is properly protected for outdoor exposure. Using an indoor television mount outdoors will result in the mount rusting very quickly and maybe even breaking!

Lastly, you have to be sure that you get viewing options that work for you. To do this, you can choose from a mount that only tilts up and down, a mount that only pulls forward and pushes back, a mount that swings left and right, or a mount that does a combination of these things. This is something that you will have to decide based on the area of your home where you want your television mounted.

Q: Does brand name matter when I buy a TV mount?

A: Yes and no.

You don’t want to buy a product brand that no one has ever heard of before, but this isn’t the most important criteria to focus on when investing in your television mount.

What matters most when choosing your TV mount is the quality of the product and the reviews of that product by other people.

One of the best ways to find out whether or not a TV mount has a lot of problems is simply to look at reviews from other customers. Is there a problem that comes up time and again with the mount that you are looking at purchasing? If a TV mount has more negative reviews than positive, then it’s a good indication that it’s one that you should stay away from!

Q: Can’t I figure Out How to Mount My Own Television on the Wall?

A: Well you can, but there are a few things that you should consider before you decide to do the job yourself.

The most important thing to consider is your health. Are you physically fit enough to lift that television with the help of a friend? For example, do you have a bad back? If physical fitness is a problem, let a professional do the job for you.

Do you have trouble with heights? If your television is going up on the wall, you are going to need a stepladder to get it to the right height. If you have a severe fear of heights, then you aren’t going to have much success in getting the job done. If you are acrophobic, have a professional complete your television installation for you.

Do you have any DIY experience? If you are a complete amateur at DIY and have no idea what you are doing and you have no tools to call your own – call in a professional to install your television for you! Too much can go wrong if you are attempting your first DIY job on your TV installation!

Are you pressed for time? The average TV wall mounting job won’t take a professional too long to complete at all and if you’re pushed for time, this is the perfect way to get the job over and done with!
