Wall Mount TV Installers Share 4 Benefits to Wall Mounting Your TV

There are a few different options when it comes to installing your home TVs. You can have your screens wall-mounted, you can have them recessed in the wall, you can have them mounted from the ceiling, you can mount them on a floor mount, you can have them set up on a tabletop… But what are the benefits of each type of installation? Well, that’s a lot of information to share in one post, so today we’re going to focus on one type of installation – the wall-mounted install. So, what are the benefits?

Saving Functional Space

One of the biggest benefits of having your TV wall mounted is that it saves space. Although TV’s these days are getting flatter and lighter in weight, they can still take up a lot of floor space when you choose not to wall mount your screen. This is because you need to invest in some type of stand to support the TV. When you choose to wall mount your TV, however, you can save a great deal of space because you are utilizing wall space that is less “in demand”. Not only this but TV wall mounts have become much thinner so even the space that your screen takes up in the room when wall-mounted is significantly less than it used to be. In fact, the average wall mount for a flat-screen TV extends just a couple of inches from the wall!

More Viewing Area

When you have a television sitting on a tabletop or on an entertainment center mount on the floor, the viewing area for the screen is much smaller than it would be with the screen mounted on the wall. Having the TV mounted on the wall doesn’t just allow for a wider viewing area, but it also allows everyone in the room to see the screen even if there is someone in front of them. This is a particularly favorable feature if you regularly have groups of people at your home to watch family favorite shows, to screen movies, to watch special events, or for parties.

No Entertainment Center Clutter

If you have minimalist decor in your home, you want to have as little clutter as possible…or perhaps you just don’t like to have clutter? Either way, having an entertainment center or a tabletop to hold your television only adds to the clutter and in many cases, it provides more space to collect clutter. When you have your television mounted on the wall in your home you don’t have to worry about that added clutter and it creates a much cleaner looking floor space.

Eliminate Visible Wiring

One of the most annoying things about having a traditional tabletop TV installation is the wiring that always seems to get in the way. You can see wires extending behind the TV and many times they have a mind of their own and fall to the side of the TV so that they’re even more visible. It’s not just that, though, when those wires fall out to the side they can become a hazard for tripping or for young children or pets to pull or chew on them. When you decide to have your TV installed on the wall, however, you can also have the wires that run to the TV installed behind the wall where your TV is mounted. That means that there is no visible wiring to pose a threat to anyone and it creates a much cleaner looking space. Even if you choose not to have the wiring for your TV hidden behind your wall-mounted TV, you can have professional TV mounters use cable housing to cover the wiring that runs to your TV and because the TV is higher on the wall, there is less slack wire to pose a danger to anyone walking by.
