If you have contacted a Tampa installation service lately, you may not have remembered to ask all of the necessary questions before hiring them to come and complete your install for you. Today we want to cover a few questions that you should be asking before you allow any service provider into your home.
Installation Service: Is Your Tampa Installer Taking Precautions?
We are living in peculiar times at the moment and while state recommendations keep changing, at Gulf Coast Installations, we believe that it’s important for everyone to do their part to take every necessary precaution for safety – even if it’s not mandated by the state. That’s why every one of our employees goes through safety training to be sure that they understand and follow every precaution there is for your and their safety.
Now every service provider feels the way that we do, though. We have seen many companies sending out employees without all of the appropriate safety gear. Employees who don’t even respect a safe social distance! That’s what prompted us to post today about the importance of following up with a company when you book an appointment with them for service.
What kind of questions should you ask when you talk to a company about services and their safety protocols?
Do Your Employees Adhere to Social Distancing Guidelines?
This is an important one. One of the biggest things everyone can do to help slow the spread of COVID-19 is to follow safe social distancing rules. At Gulf Coast Installations every one of our staff members respects this rule and follows it without a second thought.
If you talk to a company and they tell you that they don’t or can’t enforce social distancing among their employees, please don’t consider using their services, it’s just not safe.
Do You Require Your Employees to Wear Masks?
Again, as with social distancing, this is an important step in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and it’s necessary for everyone’s safety. Again, you want to be sure that any company that you hire to provide services in your home are strict about their mask wearing policies. EVERY employee should wear a mask at all times to reduce the chances that they will contract or spread the illness to you or your family during their installation visit.
If a company does not require their employees to wear masks, don’t use that company, and find a company that cares enough about safety to enforce mask wearing.
Do You Track Temperatures of Your Employees?
Not all companies track temperatures of their employees and if they do, they certainly can’t give away personal information about the health of any of their employees. A company can tell you, however, whether they do or don’t check employees temperatures to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
As we said, not all companies do follow this practice and so long as they follow other safety protocols this isn’t necessarily a deal breaker, but it is an added peace of mind when you are inviting a stranger into your home.
Does It Really Matter?
Does it really matter when it comes to how serious companies are about their employees following safety protocols? YES!
At Gulf Coast Installs, we believe that it’s common courtesy to take every safety precaution possible to keep everyone in our community safe. It doesn’t inconvenience us and it’s the least we can do to support all of our amazing clients who have made us their installation company of choice for so many years!
If a company does not take safety precautions and does not encourage their employees to take safety precautions, we believe that this is a statement about how little that company values their employees as well as their clients! Do you really want to give your money to this type of company? Better still, do you really want to invite them into your home? No? Neither would we.
It’s not asking much to help you to keep your home and family safe and even if some companies aren’t willing to take the necessary steps to do that, we are.
